Regular price ¥1,720
Sale price ¥1,720 Regular price

Hamster Monaka is a Japanese confectionery sold by Aoki Kouetsudo in Kyoto.

Monaka is one of the most common Japanese sweets made with anko (red bean paste).

When you open the box, you will find a package of bean paste and monaka skin.

You pour anko (red bean paste) into the skin and complete the monaka yourself.

The hamster monaka is characterized by a slight depression in the hamster's belly. When you place the attached nuts, you can enjoy the appearance as if the hamster is holding the nuts.

The three monkeys are famous in Nikko, Japan. The three monkeys are famous for teaching people not to see, speak, or hear evil things.

These cute monaka sweets are based on the theme of these three monkeys. Monaka is a Japanese confectionery made by spreading glutinous rice flour into a thin layer and baking it, then filling the layer with red bean paste.

The confection, which contains walnuts and caramel, is also a historic confection that won the 2018 Tochigi Prefecture Excellent Design Product of the Year Award.

Kuu (4 pieces in a box)

Regular price ¥3,416
Sale price ¥3,416 Regular price
“Kuu” is a disk-shaped monaka sold by Rokubei, a confectioner established in 1926.

The monaka was created in collaboration with the Japanese design unit Tonerico. The skin and bean paste are individually wrapped, so you can enjoy the crunchy texture at any time.

There are four flavors in each box: cherry blossom flavor, koshian flavor, yomogi flavor, and black sesame flavor. In addition to each having a distinctly Japanese flavor, these Japanese sweets are also very pretty to look at.

They are now available at Hoshi Sweets in limited quantities, so everyone should take this opportunity to try them.
